Welcome to Stonewick Poodles

Welcome to our little corner of the world. We wanted to give you a little glimpse into our home and our vision for our dogs here. We have been breeding poodles now for the past 7 years as a married couple, but I have been involved in raising and breeding dogs since before I can remember. We have five children who all love the dogs and the puppies that live at our house. From the moment the puppies arrive to the time we place them in your arms the puppies receive a lot of snuggles and one on one attention from people of all ages. We live in the country on a 4.5 acre fenced property where the dogs can romp and play with my children. This has been a dream come true for us. We now have room to spread out and do lots of activities with our dogs. ALL of our adults now passed the testing to have their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and Trick dog (TKN) titles. We are looking forward to being able to set up and start doing agility as well. We spend many hours working with the puppies and trying to give them the very best start to life so that when they come home to you they have all the building blocks they need to be the very best family pet. My husband recently completed an intensive dog trainers certification and graduated with honors. We are so excited to add his expertise in obedience training to our program now as well. My children are also a huge part of raising the puppies. We have five children ages 9-0 so the puppies get to experience different ages of children from an early age. This is so wonderful for the puppy’s development. Our children are what make our program what it is. They help us by socializing and playing with the puppies every single day they are at our house. They have learned to train puppies as well and are a huge help to us teaching the puppies the necessary things that they need to know before coming home to you. The puppies get to go to school with us sometimes. They are also substitute baby dolls at times as they are dressed and played with by my girls.

I grew up with my family raising Great Pyrenees and Bearded Collies. My siblings and I were involved in showing and obedience trials from a young age. It was very important to us that our dogs be well behaved and well socialized. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember.

My claim to fame story, We went to a lot of dog shows growing up and got to know other handlers as they got their dogs ready around us. We spent a lot of time waiting for our turn in the ring so to pass the time I started helping one of the professional handlers get their dogs ready for the ring. They showed a lot of poodles and this is where I first learned to appreciate the breed. Chrystal became a good friend and she taught me a lot of the tips and tricks of grooming poodles. We lost contact over the years but I was so excited to see her (virtually) as she won the 2020 Westminster Dog Show with her dog, Siba. Thank you, Chrystal, for introducing me to this amazing breed and teaching me all you did about grooming them!

When I got married my husband loved dogs as well, but suffers from bad allergies and can't be around a lot of dogs. When we started our hunt for a puppy I immediately thought of the poodles I had been around growing up. We got our first poodle and absolutely fell in love.

I just love their personality and they are so smart. I get very excited to be able to match new owners with their own sweet puppy. We strive to further the breed by careful breeding for conformation and the happy confident personality that our poodles have. Our mothers and fathers are beloved pets, either our personal pets or part of our guardian program. The puppies are a part of our family for as long as they are with us as well. They are handled daily and we try to socialize them the various noises common to a household.
